一. VOCs
1. Properties:
The chemical production needs a lot of organic solvents which generate different kinds of VOCs. As the chemical production covers so many industries and they use big amounts of rough materials, so the VOCs are distributed, complicated and dangerous.
• varied industries, complicated
• hard to be collected
• secondary pollution
• most of them are flammable and explosive
• corrosive
• most of them are toxic
2. Industries:
Petrochemical industry, coal chemical industry, organic chemicals production, pesticide production, printing, medicine, electronic industry etc.
3. Activated Carbon Adsorption:
Item | Technology | Procedure | VOCs | Type of AC |
1 | Solvent Recovery | AC adsorption—Steam Desorption—Condensation Recovery | Benzene, methylbenzene, acetone, butanone, dichloromethane | Extruded pellet activated carbon, granular activated carbon |
2 | Fuel Storage | high pressure adsorption -step-down -gas recovery-carbon recycling | Hydrocarbon compounds | Extruded pellet activated carbon |
3 | VOCs Adsorption | AC adsorption—desorption—incineration—emission | VOCs | Extruded pellet activated carbon |
二.Waste Water
1. Properties:
The production of chemicals generates a lot of toxic and harmful waste liquid which have different pollutant, high color, high BOD & COD etc. It’s not a efficient way to dispose of it with biological and chemical methods. With physical method, biological method and chemical method, we can deal with the most metal salts and organic compounds.
2. Activated Carbon Technology:
The activated carbon, as the deep purification procedure of chemical waste water, could adsorb the organic compounds, color and heavy metal elements of the waste water which are not disposed by biological or chemical procedures.
Item | Solution | Technology | Waste water | Type of AC |
1 | AC adsorption | AC adsorption—reactivation—discharge | Chemical waste water | GAC & PAC |
三. Decoloration of Chemicals
The decoloration of chemicals aims to improve the purity and quality of the products. The activated carbon has developed micro pores and mesoporous pores, which is the proper adsorption material of decoloration. For the decoloration of chemicals, the wooden-based powdered activated carbon is the widely used one.
